Most channels landing on this page are working from close to zero, and a jump from three followers to eight doesn't shift how the channel reads to someone scrolling through a category page. Twenty does. That's why the range here runs from 20 up to 50 rather than starting at one, the same way it does on a couple of the other free tools on this site.

The Limits, Briefly

Four-hour cooldown

Each IP address waits four hours between accepted claims so the queue stays available to more than the same few repeat users.

Weekly and monthly caps

The same channel can claim at most twice a week and eight times a month through the free tool.

VPN and proxy filtering

Connection switching cannot be used to reset the cooldown or bypass the intended free-claim limits.

Empty Channel Pages and What They Signal to Viewers

Twitch's category and browse pages show a follower count before a viewer has watched a single second of stream, and that number does real work in whether someone clicks in at all. A channel sitting at two or three followers next to a title that sounds genuinely interesting still gets passed over more often than it should, simply because the number suggests nobody else found it worth following yet.

Streamers just starting out run into this constantly. The content might be solid, the setup might be dialed in, but the discovery page doesn't know that, and neither does a viewer scrolling past in half a second. A modest follower base doesn't fix stream quality or fill an empty chat, but it does remove the one signal that makes people scroll past before giving the stream itself a chance.
